The land at Edingham Camp forms part of the historical Edingham Munitions Factory comprising parts of a remarkably well-preserved example of a World War II explosives factory, with buildings and earthworks illustrating the function of the main elements of the production of explosives during World War 2. The factory was used for the manufacture of nitro-glycerine and cordite. The buildings were erected by Sir Robert McAlpine and Sons in 1940 and used throughout the war  (to view more information about Sir Robert McAlpine, copy and paste this web address into your browser www.srm.com).  Some of the remaining wartime buildings are listed by Historic Environment Scotland due to their historical importance.

The munitions factory closed for good in 1960 and has since been utilised by the same farming family for the grazing of livestock. The land amount to about 268.52 acres (108.58 hectares). The land is served by good access and a set of handling pens.
